Dublin
Dublin (pop. 568,772) is a city, a county borough, the county town of County Dublin and also the capital of the Republic of Ireland. The city is situated on the east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey facing the Irish Sea. It is the seat of government, the meeting place of the Dail or National Parliament (Oireachtas) of Ireland. The city is an administrative and distributing center, and except for the largest brewery in the world, has few large industries. Among public buildings are the Roman Catholic Pro-Cathedral and two Church of Ireland cathedrals, the Old Parliament House, and two universities.
